Be A Space Marine!
Fantasy Flight Games is releasing Deathwatch a roleplaying game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, where you take on the role of a member of the Adeptus Astartes – the devout, bio-engineered super-soldiers also known as Space Marines.
Only the most exceptional candidates from the fighting forces of the Adeptus Astartes are invited to join the Deathwatch, and take on a new oath to safeguard the Imperium from the darkest of threats.
United in this newly forged brotherhood, all Deathwatch Marines must learn to put aside their differences and work together to succeed in the most extraordinary operations — whether facing the threat of total annihilation when confronted by implacable alien foes, or fighting against the foul daemon menace that crawls forth hungrily from beyond the Warp.
Deathwatch offers a brand new roleplaying experience by focusing on elite, special-missions style action at the furthest fringes of Imperial space, involving some of the greatest heroes and deadliest opponents the Warhammer 40,000 universe has to offer!

Sneek Peek Blood Angels Codex has Arrived!
If you've wanted to get a first look at the new Blood Angels Codex now is the time! We've got one advance copy of the Codex here in the store. And if you've never seen the words "Deep Strike" and "Landraider" used in the same entry, you might want to come down and check it out.
Here's a look at a few of the items that are coming our way.
New Space Marine Terrain Coming
The last item seen in the PLANETSTRIKE book that has yet to see the light of day is finally arriving. The giant Space Marine Statues that adorned various terrain in the book are in fact being produced as a plastic kit. We figured this was true when the Fortress of Redemption was released as every single item seen in that book seemed to be making it into production.
From what we're seeing, this new terrain kit will be $25 and will include the Space Marine Statue, a ruined Aquilla (the Space Marine Eagle-motif) and a ruined church window. Look for it to be released sometime in April.
Final Star Wars Set Announced!
Masters of the Force features 40 characters from across the Star Wars saga, including several popular Force users from the feature films and the Expanded Universe. The set also includes an array of creatures featured in the Dejarik game played by Chewbacca and R2-D2 in Star Wars. Each booster pack contains 7 random miniatures, all pre-painted and assembled of durable plastic.
Spoils Qualifier Coming Back to Hopper’s April 3rd!
Just so everyone is aware of the new tournament structure, here's what we know so far:
State Championship Qualifiers
Each store will be able to host up to four qualifiers for the State Championship although upon request and approval even more qualifiers can be hosted. (Yes, we've already been approved for more!) The qualifier events will qualify the winner for the U.S. State Championship unless they are already qualified. If this is the case, the next highest placing player without an invite is granted the invite.
The winners at local qualifier events held during the year will qualify to play in their respective State Championship event. During the summer, The Spoils will be hosting State Championship events in each state that has a player base. These events will be hosted at venues that have large play spaces. The prizing for these events will be announced in the coming weeks.
The Spoils U.S. Nationals - 2010
The US Nationals event will be held at GenCon 2010. Only people qualified through US State Championships may participate. The day before the US Nationals there will be an Open Qualifier where the top finishers will go on to play in the US Nationals. Further details and prizing for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
SPOILS Returns with New Tournament System
The SPOILS website recently had this great announcement about what’s going on with the game. As you may know, Arcane Tinmen, a company that has produced card protectors for years (Dragon Shields) bought the game a year ago and has been working hard to get the new set out and get a new OP system in place. Apparently, they’re ready to roll this thing out as this was the announcement they just made on their website:
“This has been a long time in the making and I am proud to finally say that the new Spoils OP system is here! It's time that we stopped just talking about the rebirth of The Spoils TCG and started living it. It's time to once again bust out your cards once a week to go dominate the local tournament scene. Let's cover the basics:
The Spoils U.S. Nationals - 2010
The US Nationals event will be held at GenCon 2010. Only people qualified through US State Championships may participate. The day before the US Nationals there will be an Open Qualifier where the top finishers will go on to play in the US Nationals. Further details and prizing for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.
U.S. State Championships
The winners at local qualifier events held during the year will qualify to play in their respective State Championship event. During the summer, The Spoils will be hosting State Championship events in each state that has a player base. These events will be hosted at venues that have large play spaces. The prizing for these events will be announced in the coming weeks.
Local Play
There will be two forms of local play that will begin in the coming weeks. One is casual play and the other is qualifiers for the State Championships
Casual Play
This will feature alternate formats that should make for a good time. These events will be hosted at local venues.
State Championship Qualifiers
Each store will be able to host up to six qualifiers for the State Championship. If there are a large number of players at your venue, upon request and approval even more qualifiers can be hosted. The qualifier events will qualify the winner for the U.S. State Championship unless they are already qualified. If this is the case, the next highest placing player without an invite is granted the invite.
I look forward to hearing from everyone in the coming weeks.
Let's work together to bring this tournament scene to life!
New Tyranids Arrive
The new Tyranid models have now all been released, including the new Codex and the mighty Trygon!
The new Codex looks great, and the new Trygon is just incredible. In addition to this huge model, we've got new PLASTIC Gargoyles and a plastic Ravener Brood, all of which makes playing bugs that much more affordable.
