Can the Imperium defend itself against the heretics who are attacking it? Can the forces of chaos and the beasts of deep space tear their way through the Imperial forces? This is your chance to prove that not only is your side the best, but that the other side is a bunch of wimps!

All players will be divided into two teams to determine the fate of the universe over four weeks of events. You get points for every event you participate in and extra points for winning!

In order to accommodate as many people as possible over the next few weekends (including the 4^th of July weekend), we have changed the schedule to the following:

Friday, June 18^th – 6:30 pm Kill Team Event

Get your Kill Teams ready to rumble. We'll be announcing more info on this mission shortly. (We're trying to wait for people to sign up so that we can make it appropriate for the armies likely to be fighting in it.)

Saturday, June 26th 2:00 pm In-Store Painting Contest

Bring in an unpainted vehicle (or walker or skimmer) from your army and get ready to paint! The vehicle should be pre-primed, pre-converted and ready for painting. Everyone who participates gets points and the people with the best judged models will not only get points for themselves, but points for their team.

Friday, July 2nd 6:30 pm Two Headed Atrocity

A 2 Vs. 2 Tournament! Bring 1,000 points of your army using the standard Organization Chart. If you have a teammate you want to play with you can arrange your partner in advance. Otherwise we will set up teams of two when the tournament begins.

Friday, July 9th 6:30 pm Spearhead Battle

Side Vs. Side Spearhead Battle! It's a giant tank battle in the city! We'll be playing Imperium Vs. Enemies of the Imperium. Each player will get 600 points to build a Spearhead unit/army with. Players should have 1,200 points available so that we can be sure we have even points on both sides of the table.

Open Gaming:

Want extra points? Earn an extra point for every game played against a player from the other team. Just schedule a game to be played in the store. Winner will receive 2 points and the loser 1 point. Each player can gain a maximum of 5 points through Open Gaming.

Points and standings will be recorded every week on the website. The winner will receive a FREE COPY of the new 8th Edition Rulebook! We'll be moving right into a Warhammer Fantasy League once the 40K League ends, so it will be a great way to get ready for a great summer of gaming. Other prizes will be awarded to top finishers.

There will be a $5.00 entry fee for the League, and all entry fees will go toward prizes.

You can register for the League by email or in the store. Make sure you tell us what army you're playing so we know what side to put you on. Oh, and yes, you do have to play the same army for the entire League (different configurations each week of course.)

On Saturday, July 10^th the day after the 40K League ends, we will be running a special FANTASY 8TH EDITION LAUNCH EVENT! This event will run all day and also have various prizes for each event during the day.

June 20 @ 1pm: Six Degrees of Separation!

800 Points 6 Characters, you must "chain" keywords on your team. For Example,  start Joker with the Injustice Gang Keyword.  Then add Prometheus who has Injustice Gang and Martial Artist keywords so the next character must have the Martial Artist Keyword etc etc. until the roster has 6 characters chained together! June 27 @ 1pm: Old School!

800 points, 4 actions, any set! Fliers may now carry other Fliers and attacks can be made after being carried! Only 4 feat cards allowed!

Only the most exceptional candidates from the fighting forces of the Adeptus Astartes are invited to join the Deathwatch, and take on a new oath to safeguard the Imperium from the darkest of threats.

United in this newly forged brotherhood, all Deathwatch Marines must learn to put aside their differences and work together to succeed in the most extraordinary operations — whether facing the threat of total annihilation when confronted by implacable alien foes, or fighting against the foul daemon menace that crawls forth hungrily from beyond the Warp.

Deathwatch offers a brand new roleplaying experience by focusing on elite, special-missions style action at the furthest fringes of Imperial space, involving some of the greatest heroes and deadliest opponents the Warhammer 40,000 universe has to offer!

Three rounds of escalating point values:

Round 1: 400 Points.  Only troops allowed as well as unit upgrades such as Sargeants, etc....  This game will be played on a 3' X 4' table with a short time frame.

Round 2:  700 Points.  1 HQ and up to 2 units of Elites and/or Fast Attack.  This game will also be on a small table, so expect a very fast bloody game!

Round 3:  1,500 Points.  A standard game on a standard 4' X 6' board.  Mission to be announced at the tournament, so prepare a well balanced army!

Can you beat your opponents using only troops?  Prove your mastery of your elite units?  And crush your opponents with the full might of your army?  You'll have to be a very well rounded player to win this one!

5/2/10 at 1pm: Alter Egos! 400 points: Your team MUST contain a BnB Alter Ego Pairing.

5/9/10 at 1pm : Dynamic Duo! 400 points: Your team MUST contain at least one figure with the Duo attack symbol on their team.

5/16/10 at 1pm: Dynamic Tag Teams! 300 points: Team must consist of BnB characters. More rules to follow at event.

5/23/10 at 1pm: Hell in a Cell: 666pts. Exactly 6 characters on your team.

5/30/10 at 1pm: Darkest Knight: 500 points: Whenever an opposing character is KO'd during your turn, they are considered KO'd BUT do not remove them from the map; Heal that character 1 damage. After all current actions are resolved, that character becomes friendly to your force and you may immediately assign them 1 action as a free action. After this action is resolved, remove that character from the map.

6/6/10 at 1pm: Iron Man Match: 800 points. Characters cannot be targets of Support. Damage dealt stays with the character between rounds. No Feat Cards allowed. BnB Characters ONLY.

Then, in July, Marvel will debut Marvelman Family’s Finest #1, a new ongoing series reprinting Marvelman’s greatest adventures for the first time in the US.  Plus they will release Marvelman Classic Vol.1 Premiere HC, reprinting Marvelman’s earliest adventures in chronological order.

Of course none of this states whether they will reprint the incredible Moore/Gaiman run that pretty much defined the character and goes down in history as one of the greatest stories that's currently unavailable in trade paperback form.  As far as I can tell, Marvel has never publicly stated they had the rights to that material at all, but rather the rights to the classic Marvelman material from the 1950's.   Marvel also hasn't said if they will bring Marvel/Miracleman into the current Marvel Universe either.  And considering that the whole fight between Marvel and Alan Moore started because Marvel sued him and Eclipse for using the name Marvelman, hence the name change to Miracleman.

Is this good news or not? I guess we'll have to see!

Here's a look at a few of the items that are coming our way.

From what we're seeing, this new terrain kit will be $25 and will include the Space Marine Statue, a ruined Aquilla (the Space Marine Eagle-motif) and a ruined church window.  Look for it to be released sometime in April.
