SPOILS Returns with New Tournament System

The SPOILS website recently had this great announcement about what’s going on with the game.  As you may know, Arcane Tinmen, a company that has produced card protectors for years (Dragon Shields) bought the game a year ago and has been working hard to get the new set out and get a new OP system in place.  Apparently, they’re ready to roll this thing out as this was the announcement they just made on their website:

“This has been a long time in the making and I am proud to finally say that the new Spoils OP system is here! It's time that we stopped just talking about the rebirth of The Spoils TCG and started living it.  It's time to once again bust out your cards once a week to go dominate the local tournament scene. Let's cover the basics:

The Spoils U.S. Nationals - 2010
The US Nationals event will be held at GenCon 2010. Only people qualified through US State Championships may participate. The day before the US Nationals there will be an Open Qualifier where the top finishers will go on to play in the US Nationals. Further details and prizing for the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

U.S. State Championships
The winners at local qualifier events held during the year will qualify to play in their respective State Championship event. During the summer, The Spoils will be hosting State Championship events in each state that has a player base. These events will be hosted at venues that have large play spaces. The prizing for these events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Local Play
There will be two forms of local play that will begin in the coming weeks. One is casual play and the other is qualifiers for the State Championships

Casual Play
This will feature alternate formats that should make for a good time. These events will be hosted at local venues.

State Championship Qualifiers
Each store will be able to host up to six qualifiers for the State Championship. If there are a large number of players at your venue, upon request and approval even more qualifiers can be hosted. The qualifier events will qualify the winner for the U.S. State Championship unless they are already qualified. If this is the case, the next highest placing player without an invite is granted the invite.

I look forward to hearing from everyone in the coming weeks.
Let's work together to bring this tournament scene to life!
